SMILING RIP forced the early pace while in hand, slipped through along the" inside to displace MARKAI entering the stretch and drew well clear under pressure. CARAUDJO, unhurried early, swerved out into horses on leaving the backstretch, moved up steadily thereafter and was easily best of the others. CARAUDJO was disqualified and placed last. JAY VEE lost all chance when impeded by CARAUDJO on leaving the backstretch. BLONDE SORCERESS was never a contender. MARKAI stopped badly. Scratched— 1934CD Busterina, 2228CD2 Fighting O. The latter followed in closest pursuit of the winner from the start, raced wide and was clearly best of the others. MARY DIKE was never a serious factor. BILL DALY lacked early speed. AR-SEARRACH had his speed, saved some ground and was easily best of the others even though being steadied momentarily when the winner came over in the upper stretch. THURSTON displayed some early foot and dropped back steadily. MISS FAYEBEE was always outrun.
