; I I l John Mgchise Top Candidate For Jersey HBPA Presidency GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 12. — The annual nomination of officers of the New Jersey division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association was held in the stable area here Monday. John Machise was nominated for president, an office he is certain of winning as George Willits Parker, the only other member named for the office, declined the nomination. Committee members re-nominated were ■ Parker, Frank A. Piarulli, Joe Carroll, Alfred J. Cochrane, Everitt W. King and [ Edward Yowell. New members nominated [ to the committee include Henry W. Clement, Joseph Kaplowitz, Anthony Marone, J. Prank Beattie, Phillip Goodwin, Henry G. Gorney, Frank Solimena, Earl B. Stewart and W. R. Tayoe. Retiring president Thomas J. Heard Jr., did not seek renomination and declined a nomination to the committee. The elections will be held Wednesday, May 27. Ballots may be deposited from 9:00 A. M. to 1:00 P. M. in the recreation hall of the Weiler Building on the Garden State backstretch and from 1:30 P. M. to 4:00 P. M. in the racing secretarys office on the mezzanine floor of the grandstand.
