» ■ ♦ Bug Brush Covers Six Panels in l:llf No Decision on Fillys Next Start; Amerigo, Ruwenzori Prep for Hollywood Stakes HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., May 12. — C. V. Whitneys ,hard-hitting filly, Bug Brush, made the morning workout headlines today by stepping 6 furlongs in 1:11%, handilywith the first half in :47% under the guidance of Angel Valenzuela. The seasonal-debut of Bug Brush at the moment is not decided, but this trial today indicated she can go postward a fit horse most any time. And the Florida invader, Amerigo, a candidate for rich Hollywood Park stakes, was another who seems to be nearing racing fitness as he worked 5 furlongs in :59, handily, and from the gate. The three-year-old filly Ruwenzori, a disappointment in her division of the Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs a couple weeks ago, made her first appearance on the track, other than a gallop, this morning by breezing 3 furlongs in :39. While the time was not impressive, as times go, she was under, double wraps all the way and seemed to be, as the saying goes, "crying to run." Tender -Size Goes 6 Furlongs Other fillies of consequence to work included Llangollen Farms three-year-old Tender Size, who stepped a handy 6 furlongs in 1:12%; Elmendorfs Two Cent Stamp, stakes winner at Santa Anita, who bounced back with 3 furlongs in :33%, handily, after a work the other morning of . :58%; and Midnight Date, who took an easy seven furlongs in 1:26%, handily. Other stake horses on the tab, which was fairly heavy, included the 5 furlongs in 1:01%, breezing, of Swaps Kin; the same distance in 1:00%, handily, for Winsome Winner; the five panels in 1:00%, handily, for Oscar O., and the smart move of the Florida invader Prybu, 5 furlongs in 1:01, handily, with the first half being accomplished in :46%.
