PRO-BRANDY circled the leaders readily when called upon, came in slightly when clear and was in hand at the end. ETTA FRANCE took a narrow lead between horses racing to the stretch, but could not handle the winner. A claim of foul lodged by the rider of ETTA FRANCE against the rider of PRO-BRANDY for alleged interference in the stretch was not allowed. KOKO DOZO was carried wide into the | stretch by BELFASTER while rallying well: The latter came wide into the stretch and could not threaten. CORTAM saved ground throughout. STAR SPANGLE was never a factor. TALLY-HO raced on the outside of the leaders to the top of the stretch and stopped. AIR WAVE WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED BY THE TRACK VETERINARIAN DURING THE POST PARADE. SOUNDN FURY was lightly rated setting his own pace, relinquished the advantage briefly to GAME STYLE in midstretch, then came again to earn the victory. GAME STYLE reached contention on the final turn, was taken outside for the drive, secured a slight lead a furlong out, then was not good enough. SLIDE VILLE, dvelt at the start as usual, then closed resolutely in the stretch and may have been best. DOWN TO EARTH lacked the needed response. LARRY WOLF hung while saving ground in the drive. GREEK GUARD was through early. The others were outrun. WE-TEN REARED AND BECAME HUNG UP IN THE GATE. SHE WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED BY THE STEWARDS. ALL STRAIGHT, PLACE AND SHOW MONIES WAGERED ON HER WERE REFUNDED AND A CONSOLATION DAILY DOUBLE, COUPLING HER WITH THE WINNER OF THE FIRST RACE, VMS PAID. INTRUSTING quickly outsprinted his opposition from the outside, opened a long lead on the turn and held MAYBE BEST safe while racing greenly. The latter assumed the runner-up role immediately and was much the best of the others. STOLEN SECRET was forwardly placed throughout and lasted over ROUGH FELLOW. The latter gave an even effort. YOUNG HOWLEY reached the lead between calls in the early stretch and faltered. KING FLUSH passed tired horses. LORD JAN opened a long lead early and had nothing left when challenged. LOT OF WIN set the pace under pressure, drew off slightly in midstretch and held SIR OLIVER. The latter moved boldly on the turn to reach contention but could not threaten in the drive. MR. A. closed with a rush between horses. BELLE PEG lacked a sufficient response. PEBBLE BOLD was between horses while vying for the lead and faltered. BEESABUZZIN, on the outside, dueled for the advantage to midstretch and weakened. GALLOWS HILL was never a threat. LA COMPARSITA was sent around horses lodging her bid in the early stretch and hung. PATSY KELLY, outrun for the lead after an alert beginning, hung in the drive. GREY TREASURE was always far back.
