Paul Kemlings homebred star, Curly Kem, drew the top impost of 119 pounds. The son of Bull Wagon will be giving three to 11 pounds to his eight rivals as Sunny Boy S. carries 116 pounds, Open Range 114, Foxy Moss 113, At Bay 111, Oslos Last 110, Wine Glass 109 and Dark Wizard 108. Curly Kem has won two of his three starts this year over the local oval. His only defeat came at the hands of Ben Fogelsons Bid Me in the Nebraskan Handicap at SVz furlongs. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Sundbergs Sunny Boy S. has never been worse than second in four starts this year. In his first three outings he seemed to be a trifle short, but the chestnut speedster found his best stride in his last effort over 6V2 furlongs to win his first race of the season. He now appears to be in top shape and is certain to make his present felt Wednesday. Open Range, owned by Danny Apple-garth, won the Governors Handicap here last Saturday. This mile and 70 yards victory marks him as a contender in the Fonner Mile. The homebred son "of Open Door turned in a front-running victory to beat Scomber and Folding Dough. William Wiggins Foxy Moss will be out to make amends for failing to race up to expectations in three previous outings. His races could not be considered poor, but they just have not been up to the hopes and expectations of his handlers and followers. At Bay, owned by Mrs. Clyde Cranwell, won last years closing day feature over a distance of ground. The mare has come up to this race very well and should be a threat off of her best effort.
