Y., May 12. — Rockburn Farms Recite, a winner here last out at Jamaica, prepped for the 0,000 Acorn Stakes with a 7 furlongs jaunt in 1:26% after posting impressive fractions of :47% for the half mile, and 1:13% for the three-quarters. Calais Dover; from the Howell E. Jackson barn and a possible starter in Saturdays fixture, was merely galloping through her work and was caught in 1:29 for 7 panels. Trainer "Sunny Jim" Fitzsimmons put Wheatley Stables High Bid to a 7-furlongs trial and the bay filly responded with fractions of :48Vs. 1:13 and out her distance in 1:27 handily. High Bid will represent Mrs. Henry Carnegie Phipps in the Acorn. Another member of Saturdays stake field to work the Meadow Stables Rich -Tradition.who disappointed in the Kentucky Oaks. The Christopher T. Chenery-c-wned filly stepped a useful three-quarters of a mile in 1:14%, and should find the spacious Belmont racing surface more to her advantage. Chistosa in Six-Furlong Move Veteran conditioner Max Hirsch sent King Ranchs Chistosa 6 furlongs this bright morning over the Belmont main strip and the four-year-old daughter of Middleground— Frippone, by Shut Out, completed her task in a fashionable 1:14% handily. Chistosa, who finished fourth in the Bed o Roses, and according to many veteran race-watchers "should have had the saddle off," will be pointed for the 5,000 added Distaff Handicap which will be run here on Monday, May 25. The Distaff is a 7-furlong test for fillies and mares. Whitley, from the W. Arnold Hanger string, winner of the Excelsior at Jamaica, continues to hold his edge* and breezed 5 panels in 1:00% handily, while Dotted Line, a game mare who has been chasing the opposite sex in many of her stakes appearances, was sent an easy 5 furlongs in 1:04. Trainer John M. Gaver had members of the Greentree Stable out for training andl j sent Eurasia a mile in 1 :45 breezing. Hilwan I displayed high speed in his :59%~work of five furlongs and hung up fractions of :34% and :46% along the way. Cain Hoy Stables Victory Morn stepped 6 furlongs in 1:14% while the Cambridge Stables Pilot covered the same distance in 1:14 breezing. Trainer E. Barry Ryan sent Reinzi 5 furlongs in 1:01 handily while Laudy Lawrences Beau Diable was moving easily during his half mile travel in :47%. Bridgework stepped a half mile in :48% while Polamby covered the same distance in :48. Polambys work came from the starting gate. Trainer Johnny Nerud used the Belmont training strip as the scene of Ask the Princes 5-panel 1:00 move and C. Mahlon Klines Greek Discovery dashed 4 furlongs in :49 over the same training strip.
