Orsini Captures Oslo Cup The Oslo Cup, which was instituted by the Norwegian Jockey Club in 1951 with some of the proceeds earmarked to help fight infantile paralysis, last September was won by the German horse Orsini with the English jockey Lester Piggott at the reins. Last at one stage, Piggott moved Orsini into the lead going into the straight and the colt ran on strongly to win the 12-furlong international race by almost four lengths from the Danish horse Sandring-ham. Croyden, from Sweden, finished third. The race, which is at weight for age, carried prize money of 4,000.
