BOLD STATESMAN "saved ground on the turn and continuing his rally along the inside, wwore down the leaders and drew off quickly without undue pressured HIGH TAN wrested the lead from the inside before a half mile and was no match for the winner. BIG BONUS, always with the pace to the final eighth, tired slightly. REBEL CALL lacked a tsrong late response. HAIL FELLOW closed with good energy after a sluggish beginning. LITTLE CHATTER raced wide through the stretch. MOLLY BELL dropped back suddenly midway of-the backstretch and could not enter contention thereafter. SUGARFOOT tired. FADED AMBER was no threat. SEA VENTURE disposed of GOOD GRACIE early, started to drift out entering the stretch, continued to veer out badly in the late stages, almost pulled herself up under wrestling of tfie jockey and lasted over the rivals. LITTLE KNOGGIN closed with a bold rush through the stretch. NATURAL SHADOW also finished with good energy, closing a good gap. JE SUIS ME loomed a threat along the inside into the stretch, then lacked the necessary late response. AUNT SALLY was forced to alter course in the early stretch and tired. NILE MELODY forced the pace from shortly after the start and, after reaching the front, slowly edged away nearing the end. SIDS SISTER held a slight advantage while along the inside and could not keep up with the winner in the final sixteenth. DOTTILIAN held her position while yielding ground to the top pair. SNEEZE ANN lugged in through the stretch and could not threaten the top ones. SIZZLE had no late response. MY TRUE LOVE could not keep up. Scratched— 1948Suf Brass Belle.
