NEDS ACE held a favorable position to the stretch, was steadied briefly near the furlong pole, then was wearing down INFLUENCE. BLENMINT closed willingly HE WOLF moved boldly on the turn and weakened. LOWER THE BOOM quit, as did HAB. PARADISE LOST was taken up sharply leaving the backstretch. APPEASE NOT, rated within striking distance* of the leaders, loomed a threat from the outside and was under strong pressure to wear down MR WILLIE. The latter held a comfortable lead into the stretch and just failed to last while being roused sharply. BRANDY PUNCH gained prominence along the inside after having been taken up sharply early on the first turn, then dropped back gradually. MONACOAN was not good enough MARCH AGAIN showed nothing. RAIL CREEK raced GRO-UP into defeat early, showed a tendency to drift out while setting the pace, raced quite wide into the stretch, but responded to pressure to again draw clear. ISOTOPE raced forwardly placed, but was no match for the winner. TROUT LURE raced evenly. REIGHSIGN caught tired horses. LINKYTHORN lacked a raMy MOON DEIL was fractious in the gate and showed little. GRO-UP quit badly when outrun for the lead. j FAIR TRIAD, too, was unruly in the gate and showed nothing.
