AURORA SPORT SUCCESSFUL Attendance Larger Than Last Yeaf and Returns Show a Profit — • Plans for Fall Meeting. "i AURORA, 111., May 23— The following statement was issued by general manage? Edward F. Carruthers: "The management feels extremely pleased with the spring meeting which comes to and close today, and announces that it has been a success in every way. "The attendance at Exposition Park wa$ about 15 per cent larger than last year. Due to general conditions, the mutuel handle was off somewhere between 15 and 20 per cent* We will be able to show a profit, whereas the outlook previous to opening day was none too bright. "The management announces it will gq ahead with several contemplated improve-* ments, and that it will go through with its fall dates as assigned to It by the Illinois Turf Association. "The Jockey Club wishes to take this means of thanking the public for its support and it will show its appreciation by continuing working towards the improvement of the sport." j
