I CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES ] 4 s D. E. Stewart ha3 arranged to turn out the juvenile filly, Dry Purchase, which J severely injured herself when she fell while being schooled here a week ago. Daniel E. OSullivan, resident manager of Churchill Downs, left Sunday night for Chicago, where he will remain during the Washington Park meeting. Mr. OSullivan is director of publicity and advertising for all the American Turf Association tracks. Following the Downs meeting, starter William Hamilton returned to his home at Hot Springs. He resumes work at Latonia next month. C. M. Colvin completed his apprenticeship Thursday. He was the second among the riders here to graduate since the opening of the meeting, G. Elston moving up a week ago. Eddie Hayward shipped the Peconic Stable horses from Douglas Park to Washington Park Thursday night. P. A-. and R. J. Nashs Burning Blaze was vanned to Shandon Farm today. He made the trip in the palatial private van used at E. R. Bradleys Idle Hour Farm. J. J. Greely, trainer of the Nash Brothers Shandon Farm Stable, received High Foot and the two-year-old Peace Pipe from the farm, and, along with ten others, they got away for Washington Park tonight. Dreamy Belle was added to the division of the Shandon Farm Stable which T. L. Pierce took to Bainbridge Park. Roscoe Goose shipped twelve to Washington Park Sunday. He took along Ben Blair, which Howard Wells, who got away with his big string for the same track, left here for further racing. Goose is turning back to Phil Reilly the apprentice Willard Cook. Eight of the McAtee and Serenata horses will campaign at Washington Park, while Lady Witt, George McCrann, Caw and Gib-•***• by"s Choice will spend a short time at Serenata Farm before returning to training for the late Latonia meeting. In the same car with the McAtee-Serenata horses, H. R. Riddle will ship five head to Washington Park. The stables trained by F. P. Letellier and J. J. Flanigan will remain at Churchill Downs until about June 20, when they will be transferred to Latonia. Letellier has » twelve and Flanigan six. C. H. Knebelkamp purchased from Charles Nuckols the two-year-old filly Rural 1 1 Queen, by Baigneur — Black Bush, and she will be shipped to Washington Park with other of the Knebelkamp horses. Knebelkamp sent the filly Scotland Miss to J. Um-ensetter at Bainbridge Park and returned Donnay to the farm of W. Nutter. Donnay may be sold to the U. S. Remount Service. The W. H. Whitehouse stable, in charge of Lon Johnson and numbering twelve head, got away Sunday for Washington. J. T. Taylor, with a like number owned by Mrs. E. L. Swikard and R. M. Eastman, shipped to the same point Sunday night. The stables trained by J. G. Chinn and Wayne Lewis departed for Washington Park aboard one of the dozen cars leaving Saturday night. William Hinphy reports that his filly, Ver-miculite, has been retired from racing and bred to Greenock. She is at Jack Howards Rockwood Farm. Hinphy recently returned Timour to training. He was blistered some weeks back. The U. S. Remount Service acquired from W. I. Kohn the stallion Recollection, a winner of several races. All of the horses raced here under J. F. ONealFs colors will be turned out for a short time, returning to training for the Latonia meeting. The horses trained by J. C. Cahn, W. Hoag, J. Pontius and R. White shipped from Douglas to Chicago last night. The stable of William E. Smith, president of the Standard Oil Company of Kentucky and a member of the state racing commission, will be inactive during the interim be* tween the Downs and Latonia meeting. Trainer Jack Weaver plans to move on to Latonia with the Smith horses within a short time. W. H. Whitehouse changed plans for the immediate racing of his horses and instead of going to Chicago, the stable will rest up at Latonia. Trainer Lon Johnson gets away Monday or Tuesday for the Covington track with twelve head. C. Bruce Head, resident manager of Lincoln Fields and on the board of stewards at Churchill Downs, spent Sunday and Monday at his Waldeck Farm, entraining Monday night for Chicago, where he will remain throughout the Washington Park season. A. P. Canales Sis Esther will be shipped to Bainbridge Park while other of that Memphis patrons horses go on to Latonia from here. R. L. Stivers cancelled his Chicago reserv-.
