HAPPY ANNE began slowly but, hard urged, took the lead on the turn and, saving ground thereafter, was hard ridden to withstand GALLIC. The latter, outrun for three-eighths, worked her way up steadily and finished fast. LONESOME GLORY responded to punishment and closed resolutely. BUSY IKE forced a good pace for half a mile. GOOD GUESS began well. FARMINGTON was unable to remain in a forward position. KELTWICK iaced wide. CANTERBURY RAIN lost much ground. CAHANEMORE drew into a long lead in the first mile and, continuing gamely, outlasted KNOCKENARRIGAN. The latter, saved for a mile, went wide in the last half mile, was bothered slightly when MY CARE almost unseated his rider, recovered and finished resolutely. MY CARE, under restraint for a turn of the leaders, closed fast near the end. A. Warner lost his balance at the final fence and, after almost being thrown, held to the saddle and finished with both feet out of the stirrup irons. DRAGON DE VERTU closed a big gap. HUON JOY was hard ridden for a mile, then tired. FATHALLAH tired badly. HAMPTONIAN fell at the tenth fence. GAFFGARD fell at the fourth. FORDHAM ran out at the fourth obstacle when his rider broke stirrup irons. DUNDESERT lost his rider at the first jump. BRIGHT PATTERN, hard ridden throughout, closed gamely while in close quarters in the stretch. SILLY SIS saved ground. FAIR CLARK saved ground, but tired fast in the stretch. The latter overtook the pacemakers without effort, but was forced to a strong drive in the stretch. DEEDIE, slow to get going, finished gamely. TRAUMAGNE raced well. BIG BLOW tired after three-quarters. YOUNG KITTY was used up forcing the early pace. BLUE ARAB began from outside the machine and bolted to the outside fence on the first turn.
