FERVOR responded well in the stretch and ■was wearing down the winner. TOMBEREAU began fast and, shuffled back going to the first turn, saved much ground and tired. TOTEM, slow to start, closed with a rush. BALDERDASH had no mishaps. ESTIN began slowlv. GRAND PRINCE raced wide and did not rally under urging. SANS COIN quit. BALLYGRAN bore over sharply shortly after the start and, kept closest to the pacemaker on the turn, easily wore down MISS BRILLIANT and won drawing out. The latter, away. fast, saved ground and held on well, but was not good enough. RED WHISK, forced back going into the turn, lost ground entering the Stretch, but closed iesolutely. LE BRUYERE, hard ridden, dropped back on the stretch turn, then closed well. PROJECTILE swerved repeatedlv. FLYING FEET was outrun. OLD JUDGE was outrun. SOBIEHA, away fast and showing good speed while following the pacemaker under restraint, wore down BLACK COMET and won drawing out. The latter showed good speed, but tired in the closing eighth. SEMESTER, fractious at the post, was placed outside the machine, began slowly, improved his position and outlasted UNENCUMBERED. The latter bore out on the turn. FLAG TIME tired in the final drive. CALGARY KAY began slowly, was taken up when ELIZABETH BOLLA dropped back and had little chance thereafter. THE DAGO, placed outside the machine, was awav poorlv. ELIZABETH BOLLA broke down. JUDGE LUEDERS saved ground throughout, responded gamely to urging and, taking the lead on the Inside in the final sixteenth, outlasted EVELINE F. The latter, unable to keep up early, worked her way up in the final half mile, saved much eround and was going fastest of all at the end. BANJO showed speed from the start, drew into a long lead, fell badly lame in the last quarter and swerved badly. PLUTARCH moved up on the outside of BANJO in the stretch. BATTLING ON raced wide throughout. BLUE LAW, away Slowly, was always outrun. GABBO quit. TITUS lost ground. GOLD STEP, racing in his best form and under light weight, shook off DON LEON after going a quarter, easily withstood the challenge of LADDER entering the stretch and, drawing into a long lead, won easily. SILVERDALE, a strong factor from the start, lost ground and was no threat to the winner. LADDER showed speed, moved up fast on the outside of the winner approaching the stretch, then tired. POLYDORUS raced wide throughout and was going well at the end. TANNERY, forced hack after three eighths, never regained a contending position. MANTA had no mishaps. PRINCE ATHELING was on the extreme outside most of the wav. DON LEON and HYMAN showed early speed. TACK lost ground, took the lead with a rush in the stretch and held on stubbornly. COMSTOCKERY, fractious at the post and away slowly, saved ground, but was not good enough. GUNFIRE, taken into the lead, showed speed, but tired. HAL RILEY showed speed, but tired. LUCKY CARTER had no mishaps. SAND FIDDLER failed to respond.
