EMPIRE CITY TURF NOTES j $ F. W. Bennett arrived from Charles Town, W. Va., with seven horses which he will race at this meeting. The main division of the W. M. Jeffords stable was shipped to Saratoga to await that meeting. Trainer George Conway reported that the Glen Riddle horses were on the mend from recent coughing, and would be seen under colors shortly. Jockeys R. Workman and L. Humphries will leave for Chicago, the former to ride Motto and the latter Mid Victorian in the Lassie Stakes. They are due back here on 1 Monday. George Odom made his first appearance I of this meeting. He stated that his charges i are fully recovered from recent indisposition and would be raced frequently. Brother Joe and Tick On were breezed l slowly Friday morning. It will be the first : time in many years that the Bradley colors i will be shown at Empire City. T. Murphys Follow Through was saddled I in the first race by J. V. Stewart due to the i absence of owner-trainer Murphy. Marshall Cassidy returned from Syracuse, where he served in an official capacity for r the opening day.
