ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., July 7.— Peace Chance, the bay eolt that won the rich Belmont Stakes, and upon which Joseph E. He breezed a mile and a furlong in 1:53 over the good track and was always under a snug hold. Beginning in front of the stands with his regular exercise boy in the saddle, Peace ! Chance did the first quarter in :24%. His second quarter in :24, was the best one of the week and brought him to the half in :48%. He was at the three-quarters in 1:13%, the mile in 1:39%, and the mile and a furlong in 1:53. The Widener star is expected to work a mile and a quarter on Tuesday or Wednesday, with a short blowout Friday to fit him for his Classic engagement.
