w CRAWFORD OPPOSES OPTIONS NEW YORK, N. Y., July 7.— Senator James Crawford, co-author of the law that permitted open wagering in New York, went on record Saturday at Empire City and declared that the system in use at Syracuse is a direct violation of the law and should be stopped immediately. He further Stated that the system *n operation at Em- Ira City was the only legal one, under the 8 iws of the state of New York.
