] DETROIT TURF NOTES ] ♦ . — @ Seventy-one claims were made during the spring meeting of the Detroit Racing Association, which came to a close last Tuesday. Max Hirschs Chinese Empress and Nix and Hunters Stroll Along brought the top price of ,750 each. The former went to A. Bar-telstein, with H. Neusteter acquiring Stroll Along. C. V. Whitneys Piety came next, A. A. Baroni disposing of ,500 when he led home the three-year-old. Four horses were acquired for ,000, while twenty-four changed hands at ,500. Apprentice F. Fernandez cancelled his engagement. He was struck by a flying clod in the sixth race Friday. R. E. Kelly sent Flitterlight and Toddling Girl to Cleveland. Jockey C. Hainsworth arrived from Fair-mount Park.
