MRS. EMIL DENEMARK STABLE One of Largest and Most Powerful Racing Organizations to Race at Churchill Downs. LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 14. Among the largest stables quartered at Churchill Downs and one almost certain to share prominently in the distribution of purses . during the meeting which opens here April 25 is that owned by Mrs. Emil Denemark and trained by the able B. S. "Bert" Michell. This stable which has cut a wide swath in racing since Michell was placed in charge last year approaches the Churchill Downs meeting with equine personnel numbering 28. In the string are candidates for all of the four stakes to be renewed during the Louisville spring meet. More than half the present stable wintered at the Denemark farm in Illinois, while Michell campaigned the others with marked success at the Florida tracks. Soon after the weather broke the horses not raced since last season were shipped here from the farm and taken over by Michell upon his arrival from Miami several days ago. In the Denemark Stable are the Downs stakes nominees Higher Cloud and Brilliant Light, eligible for the Derby, Pot Au Brooms, Chasar, Brown Feathers, Corinto, Top Dog and Nectarine, all nominated for the Clark Handicap; Owaller, eligible for the Bash-ford Manor Stakes and the Kentucky Oaks candidate Furtive. Other juveniles in addition to Owaller, which filly distinguished herself at Miami, are All Round, Blushing Jean, Black Star, Lowery and Mil Hufstader, while other older horses are Chief Cherokee, Jean La- fitte, Ralph C, Blind Pig, Dark Woman, Flavor, Gay Dog, Surcouf, Trahison, Hecla, Mother Dear, Rosevale arid Star Banner. The riders attached to the stable are Jimmy King and the apprentice J. Dunbar. In addition to the horses now in training, a half dozen others of racing age still remain on the Denemark Farm to be taken up later.
