Among the horses Emerson Davis is training for Conn Smythe, Canadian sportsman, are Shoeless Joe and Luxuro and two two-year-olds. They are at Douglas Park. S. S. Gano, another turfman with headquarters at Douglas Park, is training two two-year-olds and the older Judge Bartlett. The juveniles are colts by Wise Counsellor and Infinite Col. M. J. Winn, president of the American Turf Association and executive director of Churchill Downs, returned Monday from a week-end visit to French Lick Springs. Except for this short absence, and several business trips, to Chicago, Colonel Winn has been here for some weeks. He now plans to remain in Louisville until the Downs meeting ends on May 16. A. J, Stallings, New Orleans turf patron and owner of several horses trained by F. P. Letellier, is a pre-meeting visitor.
