MORRISSEY AURORA STARTER Son of Veteran Harry Morrissey to Make Debut Before Chicago Fans on May 1. AURORA, 111., April 14. The debut of John Morrissey as a full-fledged starter on the Chicago circuit will mark the only change of importance in the makeup of the official family which will .conduct the spring meeting of the Fox Valley Jockey Club, president Robert S. Eddy announced yesterday. Aurora opens the local turf season with a nineteen-day meeting which begins on Friday, May 1, and closes with the fourth running of the 2,000 added Illinois Derby, on Friday, May 22. Morrissey, son of the veteran starter Harry Morrissey, replaces "Buddy" Wingfield, who has been sending the fields away at Aurora for several seasons. John T. Ireland and Thomas C. Bradley will serve as stewards, with Chris FJtz-Gerald in the stand as the steward representing the Illinois Racing Commission. Dick Leigh will act as racing secretary and chief placing judge. The other judges will be Clifford Abbo and Charles Campau, with Campau also clerk of the scales. The Illinois Racing Commission will have Oscar Bachman as its representative in the mutuel department, with the usual corps of inspectors, under him. Dr. George T. McKil-lip will remain as the commissions veterinarian, a position hs has. held at all Chicago race courses for the past two years.
