1 ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES $ s R. B. George, owner of Hilltop and Glad Acres Farm and head of the Fair Park Racing Association, received word that Julius Reeder was en route here from California. Reeder served as general manager and racing secretary at Fair Park. Jockey Charlie Kurtsinger was called to his home at Louisville because of the serious illness of his sister. In the event Kurtsinger is unable to return here to ride He Did in Saturdays renewal of the Texas Derby, trainer J. Tommy Taylor will try to get the services of Wayne Wright. Wright rode the son of Victorian to his Santa Anita Derby triumph. William Emerson, trainer of the main division of the H. C. Rumage stable, who has been confined to his home suffering with an attack of influenza, resumed the training of his horses Tuesday morning. Since her easy triumph at her first asking. J. Tommy Taylor has refused several flattering offers for Planetoid. The last offer was made by one of the leading owners of the country and was said to be in four figures. Planetoid is eligible for the Juvenile Stakes, to be renewed here next Wednesday; the two-year-old stakes at Narragansett Park, and will be made eligible for other late closing stakes. Southern Way was excused from filling her engagement in the seventh race when trainer B. Creech reported that she was suffering with a mouth injury. Horsemen are warned against harboring apprentice J. Gordon, who left B. B. Rices employ without permission. T. F. Maloney arrived from Hot Springs with Crabtree and Moonsail.
