SECRET TRYST sprinted to the front early and soon drew into a good lead, saved ground in the stretch and, going gamely to the end, was never in serious danger. LOVE APPLE was never far from the pace, responded courageously to urging in the stretch and bested LOVE SICK. The latter moved up well after leaving the back stretch, but tired a trifle after making a game effort to overtake the winner in the stretch. JANE HASTINGS was in close quarters soon after the start. SAN JOSE, always within striking distance of the leaders, came to the inside in the stretch to save much ground and, hustled along to the end, bested ROSE CRYSTAL under urging. ROSE CRYSTAL saved much ground around the stretch turn, but was taken out from the rail in the stretch and, finishing in the middle of the track, could not resist the winner. RAHWAY improved his position and was going well at the end. SALINAS tired in the stretch, although hard urged. GEORGIA LILY was never a dangerous contender. BARANCA, always close up, responded camely to hard urging in the stretch, but was not good enough. B EIGHTY got through on the inside of COMMONER CONARD around the stretch turn to best the latter in the final drive. COMMONER CONARD tired under punishment. SAN YNEZ quit badly. WEE SANTA stumbled in the first few strides, but recovered quickly and, getting, to the front of STOLEN COLOR rounding the first turn, was taken under slight restraint to have enough to hold the latter in the stretch and won easily. STOLEN COLOR had no excuses and could not get to the winner again after being headed. ONUS met with interference when WEE SANTA stumbled after the start and dropped far out of it in the first half mile, but came strongly in the stretch. SIR ROSE tired in the run home.
