STRIDEAWAY, taken under mild restraint while racing close up, gave improved speed when urged, overhauled the leaders in the stretch, then drew out slowly. SATRAPAL displayed good speed throughout, offered good contention while submitting, but could not withstand the winner. COUNTESS ANN, away well, was outrun for a half mile, gained steadily thereafter and closed with a rush. MOISSON, a strong factor for seven-eighths, failed to keep pace when subjected to strong riding. KIEVSON had no excuses. LEGAL GAMBLE, far back for seven-eighths, made up ground in the stretch. PULIS was done after three-eighths. DAMASCENE was outrun. FAIRSICKLE showed nothing. MALIMOU was far back throughout. Overweight Moisson, 2g pounds; Wise Will, 2; Fairsickle, 1. CORRYMEELA, well up from " the start but shuffled back after five-sixteenths, came again in the stretch and closed with a rush. FANDAN,- -outrun for seven-eighths, made up ground thereafter. CENTENNIAL, forced wide at the lower turn and used up in reaching contention, tired rapidly in the last eighth. BILLY ONEAL quit. COL. HATFIELD showed nothing. Corrected weight Fandan, 112.
