WILL USE PREFERRED LIST TORONTO, Ont, April 20. Palmer Wright, secretary of the s Ontario Jockey Club, made an important announcement which will be of special interest to every owner and trainer who will be campaigning at the forthcoming-spring meeting at Woodbine Park. It is to the effect that, the -pre ferred list will be in operation. When a race overfills,, horses excluded from such a race shall be put on the preferred list, which will operate as follows: Horses -excluded from races less than a mile shall be given preference the next time they are entered in races less than a mile. Horses excluded from races at a mile or over shall receive preference the next time they are entered in a race at a mile or over. Should a horse be excluded twice, he shall receive, preference over those having been excluded f once. The preferred list will be posted daily at 2 p. m., and all claims of error must "be made within twenty hours thereafter, arid no claim not made within the time limit will be recognized by the stewards. If a horse is on the preferred list, the1 owner, trainer or agent must so notify the" entry clerk, at the tiinc of entry, who will mark the entry "preferred"; no claim of error will be corrected by the stewards If the entry is not so marked. When the name of a horse appears in the entries and it has an opportunity to start should it be entered for the following racing day and the race overfills, it will be given" no consideration whatsoever. It is expected that the preferred list will be an instant hit with all owners and trainers. f.
