SPRING FLOOD, well handled and away well, worked his way forward steadily, responded fast after reaching the stretch, took command in the last eighth and won drawing away. ROBERT L., under strong handling from the start, swerved badly in the stretch and tired in the last stages. HI-VIC moved up fast during the opening five-sixteenths, was knocked back when ROBERT L. bore to the inside approaching the final eighth, but closed fast after recovering. RUTH SCOUT, in close quarters early, tired near the end. THAT WINS quit. PHALASAN raced in fine style and should improve under stronger handling. HIGH POLISH tired after improving his position. WAX, forced to lose ground when racing forwardly, was put to stronger pressure in the stretch, failed to threaten the winner, but held the others safe. STAR BROOM, shuffled back soon after the start, worked his way forward steadily and closed with a rush. TUG 0 WAR had no mishaps. LADY LAURA raced wide and tired. SHERATAN quit. MARCHLINE, never far back, was slightly impeded at the far turn, came fast when clear, but tired in the last eighth. BE BIG made up ground. IMPERIAL MARYAN, used up in the pace, quit under pressure.
