1 CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES s While Mose Goldblatt will start the Kentucky season with the smallest stable he has campaigned here in years, he expects to make a number of additions to his string within a few weeks and should have one of the larger establishments at Latonia. He approaches the Churchill Downs meeting with eight, of which three are two-year-olds. They are the gelding Dr. Menendez and the i fillies Good Selka and Panay. None of them has been to the post and all three have been nominated for the ,000 added Bashford Manor Stakes, to be run here on May 9. Goldblatt s older colorbearers are Gay Monarch, Gilbert Elston, Brown Witch, Sourdine and Field Day. Caresaway, a juvenile chestnut filly by Wise Counsellor Miss Moonlight, is a member of the establishment owned by Mrs. Smith, while Matthew Andersons Chestnut, a two-year-old bay colt by Hildur Lady Gossip, and Delton,, a two-year-old chestnut filly by Republic Pendleton, owned by Weaver, round out the stable. Chenaults advanced condition indicates that he may fill his engagement in the Bashford Manor Stakes. Only one two-year-old, the filly I Chase,, is included among the horses R. L. Stivers and his son, B. W. Stivers, have at Churchill Downs. More seasoned Stivers racers are Miss Saxon, Little Connolly, Anklets, Patsy? ette, Casanard and Campagna. Several of the horses took in the recent Oaklawn Park meeting. - L
