: : 1 JAMAICA TURF NOTES $ Pullman, Wood Memorial candidate, with the benefit of a race, turned in an impressive mile trial when he was timed in J.r42. This fellow was eased at the end after .showing high speed in the early stages. The. half was timed in :48, five furlongs in 1:02, six furlongs in 1:15 and out the full distance well in hand. Gold Buckle and Chevrons, owned by W. J. Ziegler, Jr., are turned out at Middleburg, Va. They were recently gelded. George Phillips arrived at Belmont Park with the horses he trains for the Maemere Stable. Jockeys G. Seabo and J. Gilbert accepted mounts for the first time during the present meeting. The horses owned by W. H. Furst arrived from Miami and are quartered at Belmont Park. Dewey Bentham, at private terms, purchased from J. L. Barnes the plater Hadtobe. J. G. Wagnon arrived from Florida and will remain for the season. Jack McAuliffe was among the firstme visitors. The Wheatley Stables Teuf el returned from Havre de Grace, where he raced in the Chesapeake. Holly Hughes, in charge of the Sanford Stud Farm horses, made his first visit of the season. Reports from St. Vincents Hospital state that Bill Mosely is showing decided improvement following an operation. T. J. Pendergast arrived from Kansas City and will remain for two days. He sails for England and will return on the maiden trip of the Queen Mary. Alec Doyle shipped Red John, Sun Apollo and Spittenfmage to Aqueduct and turned the horses over to Frank J. Kearns to train. Jockey Eddie Arcaro left for Lexington to report to trainer Bert Williams of the Calumet Stable. Count Morse, a Derby eligible in that stable, is being readied for the race.
