FERVID, forced to be taken up eoing to the first turn, followed FILE AWAY closely until reaching the stretch, assumed command in the last eighth and outlasted REPEAL. The latter, kept within striking distance of the leaders, came courageously when put to a hard drive. FILE AWAY assumed command when straightened into the back stretch, shook off RIVER ROSE, but failed to stay when the real test came. MAD FRUMP raced on the outside until reaching the stretch, then finished gamely on the inside while making up some ground. RIVER ROSE was overtaken early and fell back steadily. CANPRA was held safe. LONE MISS pulled up very lame. Overweight — Canpra, 1 pounds.
