The latter forced the pace, got to the front in the stretch, but could not withstand the winner. SHABONEE, poorly handled, closed fast and gamely. LITTLE COQUINA tired after seven-eiehths. The latter broke fast, set a good pace, but could not ward off the challenge of the winner. PANCOAST was well up throughout, but lost ground raring wide. POOP DECK began slowly and closed a good gap under hard urging. DILWIN tired after a half mile.
