Despite ths fact that her colors were not victorious in a single stake race at Jamaica, Mrs. Ethel D. Jacobs headed the money-winning owners for the meeting, with eighteen firsts and prizes totaling 3,690, or 90 more than the total of the Wheatley Stable, second on the list, with 3,400 and boasting a victory in the Wood Memorial Stakes, won by Teufel. The Metropolitan Jockey Club distributed 65,350 during twenty-two days of racing, a daily average of ,515.91. The meeting began April 15 and concluded May 9, the most profitable session in the recent history of the track. One hundred and thirty-six races were decided, six of them being stakes. Teufel, surprise winner of the Wood Memorial Granville second the — finishing — was leading money-winning horse, with 0,775. That was the value of the Wood.
