DEAN SWIFT avoided the er.rly pace, circled his field leaving the back stretch and, closing stoutly under intermittent punishment, was slowly going away at the end. ST. MORITZ moved up fast nearing the far turn, assumed a slight lead in the strctcli and, despite hard urging, was unable to withstand the bid of the winner. MY BLONDE, hard ridden to join contention, finished with good courage. AEGIS, well placed from the start and hard ridden to dispose of MORLUTE, tired through the stretch run. FORCED LANDING was unable to reach the leaders. MORLUTE had early speed, but quit badly. Scratched— 25239 Ina Dear, 97. Overweight— My Blonde, 1 pound; Morlute, 1; Early Call, 3. OPEN RANGE, well placed from the start, raced to the front when MISS TROPHY began tiring and drew out through the last eighth under urging. LITTLE DINAH was prominently placed from the start, saved ground in the stretch, but fired in the last few strides. SIR TEN, away well, lacked speed to keep up, dropped back in the first eighth, moved up steadily on the outside leaving the back stretch, closed gamely in the stretch and got up in the last stride to draw on even terms with LITTLE DINAH. MISS TROPHY displayed good speed for the first five-eighths, then faltered thereafter. WISE ANNE was hard ridden, but was unable to reach the leaders. GIFT OF ROSES, well placed for the first three-eighths, was unable to threaten the leaders thereafter. Scratched— 255702Civil War, 110. Overweight — Little Dinah, 1 pound. DOGMATA, never far from the pace while racing restrained for the first half mile, moved up to the front with a rush when called upon and drew out through the last sixteenth. JEZREEL responded gamely to hard urging through the stretch and outlasted BLUE DAY at the end. BLUE DAY moved up steadily on the inside nearing the stretch and closed determinedly. RETIRED displayed good speed in the pacemaking, but faltered through the stretch run. PLAYFUL MARTHA closed some ground. STAROGAN forced the early pace for the first half mile, faltering thereafter. SUNCRAX, well placed all the way, fought it cut gamely to the close under enereetic handling. CARDINALIS, sent into contention in the openinz stride?, fjught it out with good energy to the end. MAESTROM, hard ridden sll the way, was unable to improve her position in the closing drive. PERCENT was unable to improve her position under hard urging. PATTI closed some ground. MR. NEW DEAL, in the first flight throughout, held on willingly when placed under pressure. FICKLE CHANCE dropped back soon after the start, came through on the inside at the stretch turn and closed gamely. STOCKS was unable to reach th« leaders. FLAMENCO had early speed, but tired. SEA CRADLE took command in the run to the first turn, opened up a good lead and, despite holding on gamely, was no match for the winner when challenged. PELERINE, restrained for the first half mile, opened up steadily when called upon, but was unable to improve her position in the final drive. TONYS WIFE closed some ground. SEAWICK drew clear straightening out in the back stretch, was rated along under slight restraint and, hard ridden at the end, held the closing bid of MORALIST safe. The latter, in nearest chase of the leader for most of the way, closed gamely and was catching the winner at every stride at the close. HICKORY LAD worked his way up gradually, saved ground in the stretch and fought it out determinedly, but was unable to threaten the first two. PLATINUM BLONDE, under intermittent punishment, raced well and had no excuses. POLO BAR, unruly at the post, faltered after going three-quarters. BUSBY, reserved until leaving the back stretch, moved up stoutly in the last five-sixteenths and closed willingly under pressure. SEEDLING was prominently placed all the way and continued with good energy. SUN CAMP trailed for the first three-quarters and closed ground. PEACE MOVE loomed up menacingly nearing the stretch, but flattened out badly in the closing drive. MOVIE LASS had good early speed, but was pinched back nearing the far turn. Overweight — Sun Camp, 2, pounds.
