| TWO AMERICAN COLTS j IN EPSOM DERBY Special Cablegram. LONDON, England, May 20.— Twenty-eight three-year-olds, including two which are American-owned, were listed today, final acceptance date, as starters in the Derby, which will be run at Epsom Downs next Wednesday. They include William Woodwards Boswell and Flares. The latter is American-bred and a full brother to Omaha, which also is racing here with the Ascot Gold Cup as his chief objective. Flares is by Gallant Fox — Flambino. Boswell is a son of Bosworth, from Flying Gal II. These are the only American-owned thoroughbreds in the classic. Following are the Derby candidates: Abjer, Flares, Barrystar, Couvert, Haulfyrn. Monument, Pay Up, Rhodes Scholar, Sad Comedian, Walvis Bay, Bala Hissar, Mahmoud, Bel Aethel, Fearless Fox, Magnet, Midstream, Plaster Cast, Raeburn, Spinalot, Boswell, Taj Akbar, Carioca, His Grace, Mendicant, Friar, Noble King, Ormstead, Squadron Castle and Thankerton. The Aga Khan and Lord Astor are the only other owners with more than one representative. The Aga Khans candidates are Bala Hissar, Mahmoud and Taj Akbar. Lord Astors candidates are Pay Up and Plaster Cast. Pay Up won the Two Thousand Guineas last month, with Mahmoud second and Thankerton third. Boswell was unplaced.
