McCoy | AURORA, 111., May 20.— Four prominent eligibles for the 2,000 added Illinois Derby, which is to be run Friday afternoon at the Fox Valley Jockey Clubs track, arrived here today from Hawthorne. Two of the arrivals are Derby winners. The Milky Way Farms The Fighter, victor in the Texas Derby, and Sangreal were vanned over from the Cicero track and went into quarters in barn D along with the Calumet Farms Count Morse, while William E. Schmidts Holl Image, winner of the Arkansas Derby, got in and was placed in barn J. The arrival of the aforementioned quartet just about rounds out the most representative field of three-year-olds ever to compete in the Illinois Derby, which comes up for decision for the fourth time. Danny Stewart, trainer of Mrs. P. A. B. Wideners Dnieper, notified racing secretary R. A. Leigh that he was making prepara- tions for the vanning tomorrow of his charge to the Fox Valley track to be a starter in the Derby. Dnieper finished second to Brevity in the Florida Derby last winter and is regarded as one of the stout contenders for the impending stake fixture. Among the others rated as certain starters in the mile and a furlong test are Coward and Coffeys Reelon, Shandon Farms Bright Light, A. G. Tarns Rushaway, Stroube and Grants Sir Gawaine, E. R. Bradleys Bow and Arrow, Mrs. Emil Denemarks Higher Cloud and Flavor, R. T. Watts My Auntie, W. C. Reicherts Bushmaster, G. W. Ogles Infidox and J. J. Coughlins Honored Sir. Three of the eligibles were given their final prep for the Derby Wednesday morning, each being sent over a distance of one mile at Aurora. Just Frank, from the stable of J. J. Far-rell, was timed a half in :50, three-quarters in 1:15% and the mile in 1:42%, one of the Vr ntiniied on tvrentv-second page. Tarns Rushaway, a recent winner at the local course, reeled off a half mile in :50%, three-quarters in 1:17 and breezed out the mile in 1:43%. W. C. Reicherts Bushmaster was the third ; member of the Derby brigade to receive a | test. Bushmaster was timed a half mile i in :50%, three-quarters in 1:16 and the mile ! in 1:42%. The track was at its best and unless there j is some rain between now and Friday the track record for a mile and a furlong will i be in danger when the crack band of three-| year-olds match strides for the rich prize.
