ENFIN displayed speed from the start, surrendered the command to FORTUITY, but came again and was going away at the end. FORTUITY, well placed and under urging, held on gamely under hard riding, but was unable to withstand the closing bid of the winner. LADY DAY was well placed all the way and had no excuses. ROBINS COVE, away well, dropped back steadily, then closed with a rush through the last eighth. HIGH HASTE was unable to keep up early, then closed with good energy in the stretch run. GLAD WINGS moved up well nearing the stretch, but was unable to improve her position in the closing test. CATHY P. was away fast, but was unable to keep up. Scratched 25869 Baron Lynn, 112. YANKEE PRINCE, well placed, responded gamely to hard urging and held on gamely in the drive, though never was able to endanger the winner. SOCIETY COLUMN dropped back badly in the opening quarter mile and was never a threat, but closed some ground under punishment. JOHNS SON had speed for the first five-eighths, tiring thereafter. COYA, hard ridden all the way, finished stoutly in the closing eighth. MIDNIGHT FLYER, under slight restraint early, took command when called upon, but was unable to cope with the closing bids of the first two. SOPHIST, on the outside, was away well, dropped back, but came with a rush on the extreme outside through the stretch. LOOKOUT BOYS made up some ground. CURRANTS was never a serious threat. WISE KING had good speed in making the pace, but faltered in the final quarter. CONCHITA was unable to reach the leaders. M. J. BRENNAN ran into a pocket when making his move leaving the back stretch and was unable to recover. DELIBERATE displayed good speed from the start, shook off SADIE F., made a bold attempt to go along with the winner when challenged, but was not good enough, though holding on courageously. BUBBLESOME, outrun early, closed with a rush on the outside through the stretch. ENTHUSIASM was prominently placed throughout, though unable to improve his position under pressure. HOLLYHOCK, steadied along back of the pace, moved to the front when the pacemaker began tiring, opened up an apparently safe lead coming into the stretch, but tired suddenly nearing the last sixteenth. JOHNNYCAKE had good sped in pacemaking, but was unable to keep up in the drive. WAR GAMES moved up stoutly on the inside down the back stretch, loomed up threateningly nearing the far turn, then dropped back steadily thereafter. TORATION broke down midway of the far turn. BLIND BLARNEY, steadied along in back of the early pace, raced to the front in the stretch, but was unable to maintain his advantage in the closing drive. MARCLEAVE was prominently placed throughout and tired slightly in the final test. THUMBS DOWN was unable to reach the leaders. MISS DIGNITY was unable to threaten.
