PARKWOOD STABLE DOUBLE Ouragan Carries Light Weight to Victory in Glanford Plate HandicapIrish Envoy Scores. TORONTO, Ont., May 29 Ouragan, bearing the silks of R. S. McLaughlins Park-wood Stable, was winner of the best offering at Woodbine Park today when he turned in a handy performance under light weight to account for the Glanford Plate Handicap, six furlongs feature that was sixth on the card, and made possible a double for that establishment, Irish Envoy having accounted for the Brunswick Hurdle event early in the day. H. Lindberg was astride the son of Stimulus Straight Shot, which ruled a strong choice for the race, and he rode a confident race to get the Parkwood gelding home in advance of C. Smythes Shoeless Joe, with third easily taken by Mrs. R. B. Fairbanks Hastinola when she led Grog and Chrysmute, the only other starters. Conditions were ideal for the sport for the semi-final day of the meeting, and one of the best week-day gatherings of the session turned out. In the feature, a short delay occurred before the five were dispatched on equal terms, and it found the contestants well bunched in the first quarter mile, with Ouragan holding a short lead over Shoeless Joe. Lindberg had the Parkwood four-year-old under steady restraint as he sped down the far side of the track and made no effort to draw clear. Reaching the turn, Shoeless Joe showed in front for a brief stay, but Ouragan was just beginning to run and before turning into the front stretch had found his way back into the lead. Given careful handling for the remainder of the journey, Ouragan unleashed reserved speed when shaken up and came over the line with a length and one-half as his final margin. Shoeless Joe, holding on desperately, led Hastinola by his own length, with Grog four lengths back and easily heading Chrysmute. The W. J. Waterman stable achieved a double for the afternoon when Pitchblende turned in a front-running victory over six other home-bred sprinters in the fourth race, for which he was lightly considered. Royal Vintage, carrying the bulk of support, landed home in chase of the winner, with third falling to the lot of Eileen O.
