OUR SPOT lost little time gefting to the front and, racing well, gamely withstood the stretch challenge, of LE KARONGA. The latter acted badly at the post, but was off well and, improving his position, was gaining at the finish. PRINCE PEACOCK also made up ground gradually and was going well at the end. COLONEL LE raced wide, but closed ground. BERT VAN could not keep up. VILLA BANQUET raced wide. DOROTHY R. was caught in close quarters early. SECOND RACE 4 1-2 FURLONGS. The latter came very fast through the stretch and was gaining rapidly at the end. ALMA MAE was always well up. NOIR LIGHT tired in the stretch. LITTLE MISTAKE was shuffled back soon after the start. PETRINA B. soon sprinted to the front and, opening up a long lead approaching the stretch turn, remained in front to the end despite racing widev in the stretch. RUNY BEAN came to the inside of the winner entering the stretch and made a game bid in the last sixteenth. GALE WAY dropped back after breaking well, but came again in the stretch to finish close up. DOMINANT STAR, after delaying the start for many minutes, broke in motion and, quickly opening up a long lead, was never in serious danger. TOMBEREAU raced forwardly from the start and showed a good effort, but was unable to spot the winner her early advantage. NO DOUBT improved his position to show a good effort. THOUGHTFUL dropped back after going a quarter, but came again in the stretch despite meeting with slight interference. BENS HOPE could not keep up. ALBANE tired. CAREFUL KITTY moved up strongly on the outside approaching the stretch turn to take command, but interfered with PAT W. by carrying him out all through the final eighth and was disqualified for a foul and placed second. PAT W. came around the leaders on the stretch turn, rhet with serious interference in the last eighth and was undoubtedly best. GEORGIA LILY saved much ground around the stretch turn, but was not good enough. HE DEVIL showed fine early speed, but tired in the stretch. PANCOAST acted badly at the post and could not keep up. LONESOME PINE moved up strongly in the last quarter, but barely lasted to hold RACKETEER safe. The latter was badly outrunf early and raced wide through the stretch, but finished very fast and would have been, second in anotherstride. EIGHTH POLE closed some ground. MISS GARNIER and LIGHT ZEPHYR tired after going three-quarters. WEEDIDIT was forced very wide while making his run. Scratched 26086 Viper, 112.
