RIPOSO raced to the front at once, carried LITTLE URCHIN to the extreme outside when the latter challenged around the stretch turn, then quickly cut to the inside and held sway to the finish. MOPECO came strongly after entering the stretch and, despite meeting with interference from LITTLE URCHIN at midstrctch, raced well to the finish. LITTLE URCHIN was in close quarters on the inside of LANTY BOY in the back stretch and appeared about to go to the front when he was carried out by the winner. CARSONO showed a fair effort.
