I BELMONT PARK NOTES I 3. : : 0 X. R. Merritt left for Chicago, where he will ride one of the E. F. Seagram representatives in the feature at that point Saturday. Jockey L. Balaski, owing to engagements here, was forced to decline the mount on Roman Soldier at Rockingham Park. A. G. Vanderbilt returned from Rockingham Park, where "he spent the past few days. Jockey R. Williams is on the improve, according to advices from Mary Immaculate Hospital, and will be discharged in a few days. He was injured in a steeplechase race here. Trainer Hirsch Jacobs is convinced that Amagansett can do as well on the flat as through the field, and named his steeplechaser for a mile race. H. Neusteters Pass Em By has one bad eye, but it does not interfere with his running ability. Jack Campbell, .received word from Bert Baroni at San Mateo, Calif., that he would leave there Friday for New York. The horses will be shipped to Aqueduct and raced over the New York tracks- during the remainder of the season. Trainer T. J. Healey reported that Two Bob, owned by C. V. Whitney, would be returned here from Rockingham Park. The filly was declared from the Coaching Club American Oaks a year ago. Elmer Trueman reported that the two-year-old Night Court, which he trained for Ral Parr, impaled herself when she crashed through a rail while at play in a paddock.
