1 FOREIGN TURF NOTES 5 $ Henry Cecil Sutton, a well-known and successful English breeder and owner of race horses, died May 24 at Newbury, England at the age of 67. On May 22 Gordon Richard won three races to complete a run of eight consecutive triumphs. The sequence was broken when his mount Phoebus broke down in the Salisbury Cup. When the gray colt Mahmoud won the 1936 running of the Epsom Derby he was the first horse of that color to carry off the coveted race since Tagalies success in 1912.-The only other gray to win the Derby was Gustavus in 1821. Joseph E. Widener had a most successful day at Longchamps, France, Sunday, May; 24, when his colors were carried to victory in! two races, Hat Trick winning the Prix de Bagatelle, worth 20,000 francs and Fastnet scoring in the Prix Noailles of 40,000 f rancs G. Bridgeland rode both winners.
