IDEAL WEATHER AT RIVERSIDE Monday Crowd Slightly Below Usual Attendance Kittys Rival Graduates in the Opening Race. KANSAS CITY, Mo., June, 8. Ideal weather conditions prevailed for Mondays racing at Riverside Park, and while the crowd was not up to the usual week day attendance, nevertheless, it was of pleasing proportions and thoroughly enjoyed the sport. While the sun was extremely hot, the heat was somewhat tempered by a cool breeze that swept through the stands. While most of the card was turned over to the cheaper horses, good sport resulted and in the earlier races favorites predominated. The initial race on the program was for maiden two-year-olds, and Kittys Rival, running in the colors of the Jones Stock Farm, was the one. to graduate from the maiden ranks wlien she led home R. E. Angles Sandvato by three lengths. Sandvato was easily best of the others, being four lengths in the van of Gloria G., which was but a scant neck in front of Donnacona Kid at the end of the four and one-half furlongs. The winner was confidently backed in the machines and paid even money. The aged Windy Ross made it two in a row for the favorites when he took command shortly after the start to make every post a winning one, being a length and a half in front of Sister Jean at the end of the six furlongs. Sister Jean had little trouble in beating the others as she was four lengths clear of Sweet Manners, which earned third.
