JUSTA HYMN raced to the front at once to open up a good lead and, showing a liking for the going, led to the finish, although ridden out to hold RESPECT. The latter got through on the inside of horses in the back stretch to move to second place and, responding gamely to hard riding in the stretch, was gaining on the winner. REX REGENT lost ground by racing a trifle wide, but showed a good effort. BALLYHOO closed some ground. TWO BROOMS was done after going a short distance. ROYAL JULIA did not fancy the going.
