- LONG SHOT PAYS 11.80 j FOR IN WINNING AT OMAHA MONDAY L 1 OMAHA, Neb., June 8. Ak-Sar-Ben got away to another week of racing with the running of a well-balanced card .at the Omaha track Monday. The various races were named for downstate towns and a large out-of-town delegation was present for .the sport in the afternoon and the Ak-Sar-Ben regular Monday night den show. The second longest price of the meeting was posted when Arvanna, a two-year-old daughter of Rock Reef Tabloid, won the. second race and paid 11.80. Arvanna, making her third start and her first at the meeting, won by a length from Noir Light, one of the favorites, while Oarmount was third. Jockey A. Phillips was in the saddle on the long shot. The regular daily Nebraska-bred event held opening place on the bill and the favored Arrow Heart succeeded in defeating the second choice, Colonel B. B. Arrow Heart came around the field to register his victory. He was ridden by F. Chojnacki, leading jockey of the meeting. The day was very sultry and rain threatened to turn the fast track into a slow strip by tomorrow. The track, however, dried out over the week-end and was fast for Mondays races. . x i x x v -
