GOLD CLIP, well placed from the start and steadied along in back of the pace, moved up stoutly on the outside when called upon, wore down the pacemakers and, holding on gamely, held BELOW COST safe. The latter, prominent all the way though lacking speed to keep pace in the opening three-eighths, came with a rush in the stretch. PRINCE DANNY displayed good early speed, was much used in racinj: LILLEEN into submission and had nothing left with which to meet the bids of the first two. FORTUNATE YOUTH, hard ridden all the way, was unable to improve his position under punishment. LILLEEN displayed speed for thrcc-eisihths. DAISY KAN bore out badlv rounding the far turn. GENAIBI displaved speed from the start, drew clear in the opening three-sixteenths, withstood determined opposition from PANTHER CREEK, shook off the latter and drew out through the last eighth. MOCK MODESTY, unable to keep pace early, closed with good energy through the last eighth. PANTHER CREEK, quickest to begin, made a bold bid to reach the leaders after being overtaken, was not good enough and faltered in the closing test. PRETTY PAL, slow to settle into its stride and on the outside throughout, closed a big gap, despite losing considerable ground. MISS NICO, well placed, was unable to keep up in the drive. STAROGAN. away in the first flight and forcing the early pace, disposed of HASTIMP ,TI, for the lead and, i hard ridden to the end, held GAY CREST safe. The latter, restrained early, responded gamely when called upon and finished with good energy. FORCED LANDING moved to the leaders steadily m the run down the back stretch, saved ground for the remainder of the way and was never menaced for the show, but was unable to reach the first two. HASTINIP had good early speed and was eased up through the last sixteenth when beaten. DIXIE PRINCESS could never reach the leaders. FEZ was never a threat, though closing some ground. PEGOTTY ANN, hard hustled from the start to gain the lead, raced SQUARE into submission, drew clear under punishment, but was doing her utmost at the close to hold ENFIN safe. The latter, well placed and on the outside, responded willingly in the drive and was going stoutly at the close. MAESTROM, unable to keep up early, closed ground throughout the stretch. SQUARE displayed speed from the beginning, was much used in trying to keep pace with the winner and faltered in the closing sixteenth. WAR TUMULT never entered into contention. ACCOLADE, forwardly placed and within striking distance of the leaders from the opening eighth, moved up stoutly on the outside when called upon, wore down SPIXI inside the last eighth and was going away at the end. SPIXI was restrained early, moved up stoutly on the inside leaving the back-stretch, gained the lead when reaching the stretch and, despite holding on in courageous fashion, was unable to stave off the bid of the winner. LADY HIGLOSS loomed up threateningly on the outside midway of the far turn, made a bold attempt to go along with the leaders, but was not good enough. GO QUICK lacked speed to keep pace early, though closing some ground. CANDY PRINCE had keen early speed, but faltered in the last three-sixteenths. PATRIOTIC flashed a brief display of early speed. STEELHEAD had good early speed, dropped back badly in the run down the hack stretch but came with good energy through the closing quarter mile: XANDRA was well paced all the way, though unable to keep up in the closing test. IDLE ALONG displayed good speed in pacemaking, faltering in the last eighth. HUT moved up menacingly nearing the final turn, only to drop back swinging from the back stretch. LIGHTHEELED, "rated; along in back of the pacemakers, made a bold bid to get to the front but was not good enough. SOCIETY! COLUMN unseated her rider at the post and galloped down the stretch.
