WESTIRE went to the front at once to open a short lead while setting the pace, then dropped back after entering the stretch and was in close quarters, but was taken up sharply, in the last eighth and guided to the outside of CRYSTAL IMAGE and LOW BRIDGE, and came again to get to the front in the closing strides. CRYSTAL IMAGE improved his position on the outside in the last half mile and took a short lead near the end, but could not resist the winner. LOW BRIDGE was never far from the pace and went well to the end. LAPLAND, probably best, was taken up when in close quarters and, after going to the first turn and taken to the outside, dropped back to last place, but made up ground on his own courage, in the stretch. AKSALA tired in the run home. NAFPUS lacked speed. IRON CLAW was never a contender. SECOND RACE 4 1-2 FURLONGS. Coramine, March 28, 1936 :53 2 114. Purse 1937.sh0. 2-year-olds. Maidens.
