t CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES f : $ Classed as a "poor traveller" the three-year-old Fencing will not fill his engagement in the Blue Grass Stakes at Keene-land. Announcement to this effect was made here today by Earl Sande, who is pointing Fencing and Sceneshifter for the Kentucky Derby. They are owned by Col. H. Maxwell Howard, of Dayton, Ohio, and have been at Churchill Downs for ten days. Sceneshifter is not eligible to start in the Keeneland Stake. The two-year-old son of Nlcodemus and Naughty Sally, which Charles Norman is training for Joe Desopo, has been named Sungold, according to the trainer who also will race Our Prince for the same patron, and Vellas Choice and Sam Alexander under his own colors here. James Gass, with Just Frank, Dev and Head to Head, and John McShane with Monts Pal, Chinatown and Savage Miss arrived here recently from Hot Springs. The stable embracing the racers of G. A. Burke, F. Podesto, A. P. Canale, and C. L. King and presided over by Moody Jolly arrived at Churchill Downs from Oaklawn Park two days ago. Among the horses are Mary Vito, Coronium, Jane Vito, Fred Brenner, Aim High, George Meaden, Kingsland. and Kingsbeau. Squall, a consistent winner under the silks of the late Col. Robert L. Baker, has has been retired for breeding purposes. Ten days ago she visited the court of Transmute. D. Hardy, with four, L. V. Bellew, Jr. with a like number, and Hal Kiser with one are at Douglas Park after taking in the Miami season. James T. Clark, racing official here and at several of the Chicago tracks, has been a regular visitor for the morning training at the Downs the past ten days. William Hamilton, Downs starter who arrived from his home in Hot Springs earlier in the week, has gone to Lexington after outlining plans for schooling at the two local courses. Hamilton acted as steward at the recent Oaklawn Park meeting for the Arkansas Racing Commission. For the purpose of selecting a number of smaller stables offering ready material for races fashioned for the long popular distance platers, Hal Price Headley, president of Keeneland, will visit the local tracks either Friday or Saturday. The six-year-old Candescent and three-year-old Not Out are the only horses B. C. Carpenter has at this time. They wintered at their owners farm near Williamsport, Ohio, and have been at the Winn track for ten days. , ... T. I Pierce, another recent arrival from Hot Springs, put his string of six namely, Raymond, Domiworth, Busy Lutrecla, Top Glide, Susan Hay and Elga away at Churchill Downs,
