The latter, hustled to the front, was put to good, strong urging when threatened and tired after a mile. CHILNORE, a strong factor from the start, tired after offering a mild bid. THE DARB, far back for five-eighths, was guided to the outside in the final eighth and closed with a rush. SYNOD came from far back. ROYAL LINK sprinted into a long lead early and tired fast in the final eighth. JUDGE PEAK quit badly after reaching the lead on the inside in the drive. CENTENNIAL quit. GRANDPAS BOY, never far back, was in close quarters in the stretch and came fast when clear. WISE BESSA took command under light restraint, was saved when challenged, came again searing the final quarter, but tired fast in the last eighth. RUNAMUCK showed nothing.
