VAN METER PREPARING EIGHT Schoolmom, Daughter of Jean Val-jean, Heads String of Kentuckian at Ke.eneland Track. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 8. With Schoolmom, three-year-old daughter of Jean Val-jean, the" leader, the stable of C. C. Van Meter is made up of four three-year-olds and four two-year-old3 which have never been to the races. Van Meter has had the eight in light training several months and they will be ready for competition the early part of the local season. The three-year-olds are Miss Sycamore, a chestnut filly by Phara-mond II. Vanish; Zingali, a brown gelding by Infinite Zosara, and Javamoca, a brown gelding by Last Reveille Coffee. The two-year-olds, by four different sires, are a nice looking lot, with Big Tim, a handsome bay gelding by Judge Hay Genie Crit. showing more promise than the others. Big Tim is the largest two-year-old quartered here. The others are named: Swift Dawn, brown colt, by Swift and Sure Rose Dawn; Parkcity, a brown colt by St. Andrew Virginia. The other, a chestnut filly, has been named Wall and is by St Brideaux Winkin. Van Meter will ship to Churchill Downs after the closing of the Keeneland meeting and expects to campaign his stable at La-tonia.
