JOAN ASBESTOS outran her field to the first turn and, going in her best form, was rated until challenged, responded to a strong drive in the late stages and barely lasted long enough. BRUSH HANDLE secured racing room on the inside to enter a forward position early, reached the winner in the final eighth 1 and fought it out stoutly after coming through on the inside. TORQUIL, away in a tangle-after breaking out of hand, bettered his position on the outside until reaching the leaders, then swerved to the inside midway of the stretch. DURWRACK went prominently and held on gamely. MANDAS BABY tired slowly In the last five-sixteenths. MAESTROM raced well. MISS PECAN could not stay. The others were outrun. SOME BULL was taken in hand after going to the front at the first turn, responded courageously when shaken up and, withstanding a long drive willingly, was up in the last few yards. MIDSHIPMAN, made too much use of setting the pace, tired under punishment in the final drive. NAVAL CADET, reserved off the early pace, moved up stoutly at the final turn and closed gamely under a hard drive. CANPRA made a serious effort midway of the final turn and held on gamely to the end. LONGFUL went well for three-quarters, then tired. DORMIDO lacked speed and could not better his position at any stage. SEVENTH RACE 1 1-8 MILES. Oscillator, Sept. 30, 1933 1:49 4 104. Purse ,000. TOP HIGH, slow to settle in his best stride, gradually improved his position after a half mile, raced around the leaders in the stretch and was going away at the end under pressure. MADDENING, always well placed while being reserved from the pace of the leaders, moved up stoutly through the stretch, but could not withstand the bid of the winner. PLAY BOOK had good early speed while setting the pace, disposed of TIANA in the drive and held on well. DEPARTED, sluggish in the early stages, closed a good gap. TIANA quit. HELEN BAB tired after a mile. Scratched 39968 Monroe, 115; 39973 Sallandry, 107.
