SPRINGS HERE sprinted into a good lead early, increased her advantage under light urging, but tired fast in the final eighth. ERB, a strong factor from the start, held on well. HOUSTONIAN came from far back. COLONEL S MISS made up ground. PROOF was outrun. MARGARET NADI was done after a half mile. WANDA GABLE raced wide and showed little. LIBERTY SCOUT, fractious during the parade to the post, unseated his rider twice, ran away for about five-eighths, began slowly, was rushed into contention in the middle of the leaders, responded in fine style in the stretch, drew clear rapidly and won easily. CAUTIVO, going in its best form and hustled to the front, was unable to draw clear, failed to withstand the winner, but held on well. BORN BLACK, shuffled back early, improved his position rapidly when clear and finished strongly. LIBERTY FLIGHT unseated his rider during the parade to the post, was hustled into contention and tired near the end. MAD SHIRLEY raced evenly.
