JOCKEYS AND DERBY MOUNTS James, Woolf, Workman, Wright and Jack Westrope Assigned. H. Richards Trobably Will Be Astride Current Future Book Choice, Fompocn, In Big Race. LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 15. There will be no shortage of jockeys at Churchill Downs when the nineteen-day spring meeting gets under way at the local course on May 1. Many riders already are on the grounds and many more, both apprentices and full-fledged riders, will be here by the time the lid is pried off the Louisville season. Among the countrys foremost saddle artists expected to be seen in action here are Basil James, who led the list of American jockeys last year; Eddie Arcaro, George Woolf, Harry Richards, Alfred Robertson, Ray Workman, Charley Kurtsinger, W. D. Wright, Jack Westrope, I. Anderson and Charley Corbett. Most of these are expected to have mounts in the Kentucky Derby, to be run on May 8, Kurtsinger being the only one in the group with a chance to win the 0,000 classic for the second time. Kurtsinger, a Louisville boy, rode Twenty Grand to victory in the Derby of 1931, while this year he is to have the mount on the Glen Riddle Farms War Admiral. BRADLEY RIDERS. Richards has been mentioned as the probable rider of the current Derby favorite, J. H. Louchheims Pompoon, while James and Woolf may be seen on the two E. R. Bradley nominees, Brooklyn and Billionaire. Wright has been engaged to handle the Three Ds Stock Farms Heelfly; Robertson will be astride one of the Milky Way Farms starters; Arcaro is to pilot Chicolorado for the Grcentree Stable; Anderson on either Galsun or Gosum for the Caumet Farm, and Workman will be astride a starter representing one of the Whitney interests. Westrope will be here to ride Gerald. Among other jockeys either here or expected for the Downs meeting are J. Cowley, R. Dotter, W. L. Johnson, W. Garner, H. Callahan, H. Beasy, M. L. Fallon. T. Dickinson, E. Pool, H. Schutte, L. Canfield, L. Pichon, P. Clelland, P. Roberts, R. G. Cooper, C. Swain, W. Hanka, G. South, W. Farrell, P. Keester, T. P. Martin, J. McCoy, G. Miller, W. Kern, J. Trent, R. Montgomery, R. Yel-ton and W. Boganowski. A number of youngsters also are to be seen galloping horses here and from these ranks several new additions to the riding colony are expected to come.
